It's evidence (albeit anecdotal) that situations like this get swept under the rug, especially if the "offender" doesn't have a prior record. It's a bullshite misunderstanding, what do you want him charged with? Resisting arrest? What was he being arrested for?
ETA: do you know of any incidents similar to this one where the offender was charged with any sort of charge that stuck? Jax is a young kid, with no prior record. Nothing will come of this.
Exactly. Shoving someone off you is not the same thing as trying to hurt the officer. If Jaxson had thrown a punch, this would be a different story.
I can't imagine any charges actually getting filed. If there were, this would just get pled to some community service. Jaxson is not going to jail, and this will have no immediate impact on his NBA career.
As part of that, the 911 call is important, because there's no allegation that he hit his girlfriend. What we know about their situation is that he says she threw stuff at him, and the 911 caller says that he "was violent," which may just mean that he smashed something. If there were a real allegation that he hit her, the situation would be very different.
But you'd better believe that this is going to be a factor in Griff's mind when it comes time for an extension. Because it should have and will have an impact on how much money the front office wants to risk on Jaxson. Emotional instability isn't a good thing.

My real curiosity is what this whole thing does to Jaxson's attitude. Is he "scared straight" now, with a new dedication to his career, or is he distracted and depressed? Is he training hard every day?
Last season, something changed in Jaxson's attitude that turned his season around. His attitude has a big impact on his performance.
