It has been repeated ad nauseam that it was never to stop transmission but lessen infection symptoms as to not be hospitalized.

That’s not true at all.

The 94% effective was talking about stopping infections. The original publications in the scientific journals were all about cases in vaccinated vs unvaccinated groups.

And to be fair, that could still be accurate.

Wasn't that also before the emergence --or at least widespread circulation -- of the Delta variant?

I certainly recall a lot of concern being expressed that the vaccine may not even be effective against the Delta variant which was new during the time frame to which you are referring.

Also, are we absolutely sure that more than 1 in 20 vaccinated people are being infected?

1 in 20 is a lot of people. Means many people will know 20 or so vaccinated people that get infected if it continues to spread the way it has been the past few weeks.

It’s a virus, they mutate and change the longer they are in a population.

So, in a country where say 150,000,000 get vaccinated...there's going to be stories like this for NINE MILLION PEOPLE.

Let's stop act like it's breaking news every time someone who gets a vaccine gets Covid.

Do we break into regularly scheduled programming when someone gets the flu after getting a flu shot?
