I do like how the doc goes after the original Woodstcock, too. Most of what we think of as Woodstock is the movie and didn't actually happen. The original concert was a disaster as well, and it's a miracle more people didn't die or get seriously hurt. In that way, 99 is a perfect tribute to the original.

It's funny how 94 kinda gets off light: there was a show, people sort of liked it, nothing memorable happened (save the Green Day mud fight) and we went on about our lives. It's a grat Gen X metaphor, sort of this forgotten middle child, but it's not like it did anything to merit the attention either.

Same here. Being born in 70, I always bought into the romanticizing of the event, even after seeing the documentary and thinking "don't really feel like I missed out on anything by being there. It actually looks pretty miserable there."

But try telling a Baby Boomer that.
