Becker may have been one of the brains that brought us SD, a genius at crafting songs in the studio, but he added nothing musicianship wise to the current lineup in a live performance. Ding! Ding! Ding! You are exactly correct. Yes, the stoner rants were hard to take and I could just feel that Donald Fagen was just letting him go on to appease him.

I love Steely Dan and will see them anytime and anywhere. Someone asked if it was like seeing Journey without Steve Perry. NOPE. If Fagen was gone, THEN it would be like that.
