I never got the Jefferson hate. Almost every quarterback under Miles was underdeveloped and utilized poorly.

At the risk of initiating a firestorm, Jefferson was a good bit better than people here give him credit for.

I get the frustration (he frustrated me plenty, too!), but he's top 10 at LSU in both wins and stats (yds, TDs, etc). He beat a Saban-coached Bama team twice, and the team seemed to step up a notch both times he replaced Lee (as a freshman, and in 2011). Given what we asked our QBs to do before Burrow, I don't think he deserves the hate he gets here, and probably should have been listed in the "most underappreciated Tiger" thread.

Some people love to bitch about the bar fight, but from what I read about that, it sounds like he was actually doing the right thing.
I'm glad his family still came to LSU. Wouldn't have shocked me if they'd have gone elsewhere, as bad as he gets ragged on.

JaMarcus, Flynn, and Perilloux were all good QB's. That four near stretch from 08-10 were filled with struggles because Perilloux getting booted forced a lot of mistakes by guys not ready to see the field. We then had Mett, who was great. Of course then we had problems with Jennings and Harris, but they seem almost more hampered by the play calling and 2 QB system that emerged.

Anyway, Jefferson had pretty average stats. Where I think most people got a sour taste from him was his attitude when he played poorly. In particular, the 2010 season where he really struggled and Les started putting Lee in for clear passing situations. Lee saved us versus Florida that year.

Nah, they were poorly evaluated. You can't turn chicken shite into chicken salad. You saw that with Shae Patterson and Feleipe Franks. You saw that on misses like Dak Preskott who camped a couple of years.
