You shouldnt have told them anything since you havent been convicted. Most job apps ask if you have been convicted, not charged.
A recruiter doesnt have any say in that matter. Dunno why they would step in like they did
Yeah I am kind of mad at myself since I feel I might have given too many details.
But I had my guard down since I keep getting emails from HR about how smoothly I am moving along in the process, they just ordered my laptop for me, already set up my work email, had me do all these onboarding tasks. And because my recruiter told me that the pending charge wouldn't matter I figured this guy just wanted a quick run down of the charge so they could skip over it and move on.
But after I gave him the quick rundown, it didn't end there, he tried to dig deeper into the details. The longer the call went with the guy I realized that he may not be on my side and I may have been giving him too much information.

I guess it depends now on the type of job you have and the sensitivity of the position in regards to said crime.
Some jobs a DWI is an automatic no but others they dont care. Violence charges, especially domestic, is usually a guaranteed no across the board if a company finds that.
But yea I would have just stayed silent about the whole ordeal since you havent been convicted of anything. Cant do anything about it now. Good luck man
