Given a choice between a catcher that sucks at hitting and one that sucks at defense, I would take the one that sucks at hitting.
That being said, Johnson could be one the best hitting coaches in America. Milazzo was also injured in the offseason which hindered his development in 2021.
As for his summer stats. I am sure he is working on his mechanics and we can expect him to take some lumps until the muscle memory becomes natural.
