There were 50 performers across the 3 days of the festival.
Of those 50, the really aggressive ones were
Korn
Limp Bizkit
RATM
Kid Rock
Metallica
And maybe one or two others. But that’s still leaves 40 or so bands that were relatively “chill.” (Note: I consider RHCP to be a relatively chill band. Though they did do a cover of Hendrix’s “Fire” right as the arsons started up.)
Also, I don’t know how RATM’s political ideology fits into the documentary’s narrative that these were a bunch of angry white frat boys amped up by macho cock rock.

If there were frat boys there, it was because of Dave Mathews Band.

I got the sense that it was less the individual bands and more stacking Limp Bizkit, RATM, and Metallica on top of one another 48 hours into what was already a shitshow before they even hit the stage. Like playing some progressive bands by day only to cap the night with numetal and hard rock bands. I mean of course bad shite happened

right but Limp Bizkit/RATM/Metallica played back to back to back to END day 2. So you've got a crowd thats drunk fricking hot and miserable over the shitty conditions for 2 days and then have those 3 bands, that's just a powder keg

it doesn't. that's why they barely showed them but clearly that music is very aggressive and yes very angry but since they are angry commies/not white frat boys its good angry so its cool.
