I wonder how that would be received today? A rowboat 1/4 mile from the dock in a typical south LA lake with visibility of 3 inches…swim there and back twice. Maybe I don’t remember it exactly.

KoolAid was called bug juice and there was a boundary around the little general store. If you were caught with a soft drink outside the boundary, you had to buy one for the person who caught you. The old canvas tents with cot mattresses that were probably pulled out of the dumpster at Angola. Merit badges by day, mayhem by night. Fun times.
