where does most of that pressure originate (family & friends of a recruit, etc)??

All of the above. When your entire family and all your friends are die-hard fans of a particular team, and you are supposed to be the "chosen one" who has been put on this earth to go be a star for that team when the time comes, kids will certainly feel that pressure--even if there's not necessarily anyone actively saying to them "you better go to X school!". It's just a general atmosphere--imagine if you knew that everyone in your life was not just paying close attention to a big decision that you had coming up, but was actively rooting for a particular outcome--that shite would weigh on anyone.

is it extremely common for recruits to end up selecting the home school Primarily to avoid feeling like they let those around them down?

Probably not *consciously*, but I guarantee that it plays a big factor.

Yeah, Acquatic, I don’t envy being faced with having to make such a big arse decision at such a young age. Particularly, as you said, with everyone you know watching and reacting to it.

That’s not an easy predicament to be in, particularly when you aren’t even an adult yet
