Appreciate all the input from everyone! I'm digging this idea of kayaking to find a water fall. Gonna have some kids in tow so I'm not sure I'll be able to swing the kayaks, but I'm damn sure gonna try.

Funny thing is I posted on another board too and a bunch of people started talking about bigfoot sightings and stories going back 100+ years or so... haha I'll bring the jack links.

Eat at the Foggy Bottom restaurant in the state park. We loved it, and ate there numerous times. It overlooks the river, so the scenery is nice as well.

There's a pretty good new bowling alley and arcade at the north end of Hochatown (this is the touristy town. Broken Bow the town is just a town) that you should hit up in the hot part of the day.

The hiking trails are fun but probably not a great July activity. The river right below the damn is beautiful.

Grateful Head was pretty good.

Broken Bow

We stayed in 2 bd 2 bath - Rustic Retreat
Broken Bow Vacation Cabins

Monday arrived 3:00 - went to Pruett’s grocery - got very things we needed - very expensive but the local store

Supper - Mt Fork Brewery - we had burgers - delicious- place for kids to play & roam

Played mini golf & had ice cream

Tuesday - guys fly fished - booked through Beavers Bend Fly Shop (it’s inside state park)

We then rode the Train & horses inside The park (there are signs)

Then we went & ate at the Hochatown Saloon for lunch

Rested for a little while

Then, we went to friendship trail (Google will guide you there - make sure you download AllTrails app to help you on trail)- we got down to the water & stick our feet in but didn’t let kids play here - just our choice

Supper - Grateful Head Pizza - great pizza

Wednesday - we went to the Beavers Bend Kayak & canoe - we rented & they took us to our starting point - then we kayaked a couple hours - found our way into a pretty cove right before we ended our trip

Lunch - Foggy Bottoms (inside the park)

Then, we went where you saw my pics of the clear pool . We followed these directions. Very easy walk - seemed weird but was awesome

?

Supper - gutter chaos - food was so so but we bowled & played in arcade

Then we chased lightening bugs (as we call them)

Man I love hunting and fishing but I don’t understand this shite for even one second.

Zero desire to stick my damn hand into a stump hole for a catfish of all things.

I’ve seen too many damn water occasions and snapping turtles to risk it for that shite.

Go on a kayak trip on the Mountain Fork River. Believe it or not, there are several chutes that are challenging and fun.

I’d recommend using wild goose canoe and kayak. You park at their place and they drive you to one of two starting points. So when you finish you’re back at their place and you just get in your car and drive off. No waiting around on a shuttle to pick you up.

Also I’d recommend the 8 mile trip over the 5 mile trip. The first three miles is where most of the good rapids are.
