Reason for Jay Johnson hype by showing his worst season

In Johnson's worst year at Arizona, he won 32 games. Obviously, if you're LSU, you're definitely not pumped for that; but, something important to note is that Johnson is an offensive coach--not pitching.
A lot of Arizona fans have said that he is an excellent coach, and the only reason they haven't won a huge amount of games is due to really questionable pitching, and it's pretty easy to follow that logic if you look at his worst season.
These are the pitching stats the year before they hired Yeskie. In spite of some of the worst pitching numbers I've ever seen, they still won more games than they lost, and that's largely due to their hitting stats.
These guys raked in the worst season the dude coached (not to mention the three years before that and the one year after); and better yet, as soon as they hired a decent pitching coach, they won 46 and were in Omaha. I feel like that means if we hire a good pitching coach, we should be set in the SEC for a long time.

So he really needs to nail the pitching coach hire

No doubt.

Hopefully he will. The offensive statistics are exciting

And supposedly there's interest from Childress, and I'd argue Childress would be the literal best hire we could make for pitching coach. He turned so many under-the-radar prospects into first rounders.

Nope. Recruit the best talent first.

We have talent.
Yes. We do. However, you’ve got to keep recruiting the talent and the greatest pitching coach in the world cannot turn a second rate high school pitcher into Roger Clemons or Ben MacDonald.

Why did Yeskie jump to A&M so quick?
