it’s a straight up rom com with a setting that’s in sports. Movie hasn’t aged well, you can feel the 90s block buster cheese coming through the screen, but it had a massive long term hold on pop culture in a lot of ways, and made guys like Drew Rosenhouse famous. I find that part of it interesting.

dude, it's worth it for the Kelly Preston scene alone. THAT one.

Yeah I don’t think many people consider Jerry Maguire a sports movie
Oh and to anyone hating on what is unquestionably a great movie that both women and self aware men can equally enjoy….

Exactly. You could probably change up the occupations pretty easily without disturbing the storyline.

So many otherwise great movies that I used to love back then suffer from this when I watch them now.
