Putin spent his first few years fighting the oligarchs, and pushing them out of politics.
During the 90s they ran Russia, and they ran it for their own benefit. The oligarchs are still very influential, but the balance of power has shifted towards the state.

Yep. At least he loves his country. Democrats hate ours, which is why they're doing everything to "fundamentally transform" it.

I agree but I’m also pretty sure he bombed one of his own buildings and blamed it on a rival political party early on
He may love his country. But it’s cause it’s HIS.
