Heading there for the end of July and looking to book a charter.
Anyone been that could recommend a guide?

offshore out of there is pretty rough you'll be trolling for kingfish. But that said inshore in that area is solid huge trout, tarpon, redfish, snook. Fished with John Frazier with inland fishing charters last year and had a great day. Florida trout fishing is different but the fish are huge

Well that’s unfortunate... I hadn’t heard that their offshore fishing wasn’t very good.
We took an inshore trip a couple years ago from there and did okay... weather didn’t cooperate as a front had moved in right beforehand. But may look into trying again.
I was looking at the full day Gulfstream trips... hopeful that more than just kings could be caught going out that far

One of the problems is that the Mahi have already moved through. They spend their summers in the Carolinas and up off Virginia DelMar. They come through there in April and May and again in Sept Oct.
You're about 100 miles from the canyons. If you've got good weather you can run out there and maybe catch some blackfin.
Other than that, it's kings and amberjack. And I'm not sure if AJs will even be open then.

Makes sense; guess I just assumed there would be more options that time of year!
We have a family beach house there which is why we were looking there. But it looks like more action that time if year can be found further south, so a drive down to fish out of Jupiter, FL may be worthwhile.
