Opinion: The Republican Party is building a political bomb

I will not link to CNN but holy shite is this ridiculous.
A chilling new poll by PRRI, the Public Religion Research Institute, found that nearly one in four Republicans (that's tens of millions of people) believe the QAnon mythology that "the government, media, and financial worlds in the US are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles." You might just shake your head and laugh at this nonsense, except that that they also believe that "because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country."
This is no fringe cult. The number of people believing these and other outlandish QAnon conspiracies is enormous. There is a current of poison circulating in American society, threatening its cohesiveness and its social and political order. "If it were a religion," according to PRRI founder Robby Jones, "it would be as big as all white evangelicals Protestants, or all white mainline Protestants."
So, let's take a step back and look at how this bomb construction is going. Countless Republican leaders either spread or refuse to deny the Big Lie, the claim that the election was stolen. Tens of millions of Republicans erroneously believe Trump won. Almost one-quarter of Republicans believe it may become necessary to use violence to "save the country." Then they are told by Republican outrage peddlers that the US Constitution protects their right to own firearms for the purpose of rising up against the government. And then -- the match to start lighting the fuse -- they are told that Democrats are similar to Nazis.
The very reason there is a 2nd amendment is for the citizens to be able to defend themselves from all enemies, foreign and domestic. The Declaration of Independence says that we not only have the right but we also have the duty to alter or abolish any government that does not secure our unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I am very happy to see there are million who are angry with the way things are going in this country, there may be hope yet.

The election was stolen.
Trying to tie it to Qanon is nothing but a last ditch effort to distract from what is coming.
I never followed Q anon or bought much into it but anyone who simply looked at the data can tell that this election was stolen.

I
Very very true. Kind of like the previous poster said, nobody’s doing nothing as long as we’ve got 2600 sq ft heated and cooled, satellite TV, travel ball, beauty pageants and food on the table. It’s gonna take the collapse (stay tuned) before people act in mass.

We have one of the two major political parties that is run by Satan-worshippers, so I'm not sure how that's a "conspiracy."

Just like any other country throughout history, by the time the populace looks past their apathy, it will be too late. I’m afraid the Greatest Generation may have been the last generation that would have stood against the tyranny. There are certainly very few now. No matter what the government does, the vast majority will submit like bleating sheep.

its amazing how in the USA people are so attached to the democrats or republicans and support them so wholeheartedly. All the while, both parties are not concerned one whit with helping out the American people. They have perfected the art of dividing and conquering. Split people up, keep their allegiance, all the while they are both only on the side of their big money donors, be it defense contractors, big tech, financial institutions, or oil and gas.

So if a group of people believe a fake theory about a group of people who believe a fake theory, is that a double conspiracy theory?

If they wanted to be fair, they should have included the Biden speech from like 2 days ago where he was creeping on the little girl in front row.... for no apparent reason.

Ask yourself this; to which party is a Satan Worshiper and/or America-hater most likely to belong?

Lost all credibility right here.
You can read writings of the contemporaries who actually wrote the fricking thing telling you exactly this. The founders despised organized government. They truly understood that government was always the enemy of the people and gave them their Liberty teeth. Can't wait to flash mine and sink them deep

Maybe not. Maybe a collection of little things tip it off.
There is only so many times you can watch your daughters JV BB team get trounced by the team with a 6' 210# boy with boobs
