that looks like a team that would qualify for the WC

That is NOT the lineup I want to see…

We play again 5,200 miles away just 4 days later.

Agreed, I wasnt thrilled at first, but that means the next games lineup should be epic.

I get it.
I’m a member of the “play mostly starters and sprinkle in newbies” camp.
Hate the idea of going into big matches without our starters getting a run out if the tune up game is against a team that is better than most anything we normally see.
If we were warming up against Cuba or something, I’d agree with that lineup a bit more.

This is just to simulate having 3 games in a short time span like we will for WCQ.

Ives’ lineups usually end up quite different than the actual lineup, in my experience. I think we should rest our starters for this one and get them ready for the two important games.
But man, Ives is not a great writer, especially considering how long he has done this.
Using “anyway” to end two thoughts in the same sentence.
I would argue if Pulisic can’t go then it’s Aaronson filling in for him on the wing, not Lletget. Does he expect Pulisic to play centrally? Does he want Musah on the wing? I’m not sure.
He also frequently uses a comma before the word “and” when the proceeding segment is not a complete sentence on its own. That’s like first grade grammar.
Here he just forgets a word (“lineup”). These articles are poorly proofread.

Christian Pulisic and Zack Steffen are busy with the UEFA Champions League final anyway, so it isn’t as if the USMNT could deploy its strongest possible lineup anyway.

Lletget is the leading candidate to step into the lineup against Honduras if Christian Pulisic isn’t able to start

What do you think of this projected lineup? Who are you most excited to see play? Who isn’t in our projected that you would have made a starter?
