There is plenty of evidence going back to the start of human civilization. The problem is that the skeptics refuse to accept any of it. An alien could land in the middle of Times Square, show you advanced technology, and most of you would just say, "That's a hoax, just the government lying and using special fx." There is literally no evidence that most of you would accept.

The David Fravor story is pretty compelling now that the other pilot has come forward and said it is true.
