If they take the same approach as they do with the selections for the NCAAT in basketball then I doubt the SECT will have much, if any bearing on the tournament selections (outside of an unexpected team winning the SECT). I think for LSU, UGA, etc. the cake is baked and the SECT will have no bearing.
Remember, in basketball LSU went into the SECT with many who analyze the selections year to year thinking they were somewhere in the 6-9 seed range. LSU then beat Ole Miss (a bubble team), Arkansas (an eventual 3 seed) and lost in the final seconds to Alabama (an eventual 2 seed). For their efforts LSU ended up being seeded lower than almost everyone assumed they would be with Wade remarking that it was clear the committee had locked in their bracket on the Thursday/Friday before selection Sunday and the results of the conference tournaments were largely irrelevant.
IMO, LSU is either in or out RIGHT NOW and this week's results (baring them winning the SECT) won't change that.
