I've lived in New Orleans all of my life, but from a tourism standpoint, I'd probably recommend Nashville over New Orleans to any outsider.

Just spent a weekend in Nashville and it was as walkable as New Orleans without the worry of being mugged after dark.

Depends what you are looking for, I guess. I'd argue, from a tourism standpoint, Nashville has more (diverse) options. If you're really focued on eating and drinking, then I'd suggest New Orleans.

I can agree with this. Nothing really blew me away food-wise in Nashville, but was only there 2 nights and was my first time there.

I had just never realized how close everything was in downtown Nashville with Broadway, Predators arena, and Titans stadium all being within a short walk.

I'm surprised Nashville hasn't tried to have a Super Bowl with how the city is laid out. If New York City could have a Super Bowl, I'm sure Nashville could pull one off as well.
