about to watch it right now, my wife has never seen it. I'm pretty sure I might drop a tear or 2 at the end

I was shocked at how good of a movie it was. It's now part of my DVD collection.
The end is definitely a tear jerker.

It's about a boy and his dog growing up in WWII era Mississippi. It's a good movie.

It's about way more than just a dog dying although that is probably the part that stands out. He died of old age though.
