You mean like how Pelini was hired without an interview? A coaching search isn't supposed to be fast. It's supposed to be thorough. The problem with LSU coaching searches hasn't been about taking too long, its been about making bad hires, not paying up for better candidates, but overpaying lesser coaches to keep them around, because we're too cheap to go after better (Miles, Mainieri, Orgeron (before the magical 2019 season where evrything fell into place, when absolutely no one was trying to pry him away, they gave him way too much money) Fargas.

The difference this time was they paid up for the right coach. She made it clear she wanted to be here, and that they paid enough to get her away. She's from here. It's not complicated. The only hard part was her decision. It's not easy to walk away from a program you literally built (no NCAA appearances for Baylor before she took over) and won three titles with. Money makes it much easier.
