I just inherited a very small percentage of 150 acres and there are 25 other relatives and we each have very small percentages. I can't find what percentage my father had that was left to me so I am going to try to estimate the total value if I can find any comparable land in the area.

I went through this recently in just about the exact same location. In my experience, the land is worthless.

Laplace was supposed to be the next big thing in the late 70s. When I started the research on the property and surrounding parcels, I knew a dozens of owners. It was like a developer went to the local CYO and pitched this “great opportunity.” You can go on the St John assessors website and get the details; the site is remarkably good. If you go on Google maps, the area north of I10 has two shades of green. The light green is privately owned subdivisions that never were. The Assessors page has the same boundaries and you can see where the streets were planned. Nothing is going to happen to that property. Interestingly enough, people don’t sell propably for the same reason we don’t. The property tax is less than a cheap cup of coffee on each parcel. Maybe they will find Lithium or something buried underneath

Eta: A quick research for the area shows two large tracts on the west side of the parish are owned by Gramercy Holdings to the south and Wildlife and Fisheries to the north. If you have one of the few parcels fronting Airline you may have a something.
