I'm sure they probably offered a 5-10 year deal to keep that going. The idea that Kobe's shoes will be like Jordans and warrant a lifetime (whose lifetime?) contract is silly. Nike was smart not to commit to that.

Depends on if they can still re-release his older shoes. The money is in the retros.
