Building a ramp for a shed. Ideas?

Need a small ramp for a 36" door opening for my push mower. Was thinking of treated 2x4 and treated 1x4 on top. Would treated ply board work better?

I'd use 2x6 if you plan to send up anything with weight. But deck boards (5/4) would be fine as well.
I wouldn't use ply due to deterioration issues, but that is just me.
Also make sure you have 3 runners minimum

For sure 3 runnners. Ply board doesn't look aesthetically as good as 5/4 deck bards. I am all for function though.

For a 36" opening I would probably do 4 2x8 runners and deckboards.

That would work too.

I'm also making ramp soon. How high off the ground is your shed? How are you doing it?
My rim joist is 2x8 and 6-8" off ground.

Mine is 48" wide. I did 3 runners with deckboards. Holds my riding mower just fine.

Shed is approximately a foot or so off the ground. Was thinking 3 or 4 treated runners and deck boards.
Not sure how I will engineer the landing.

I think 16" is the max recommended for deckboards. You probably won't have any real issues going wider, but it will probably cause some premature sagging.

With the price of lumber what it is now you might be able to get aluminum loading ramps from harbor freight for just as cheap.

Im an idiot. I was planning to do deck boards but I changed to 2x6s. Noticed a few hours ago.
