I don’t think he pushed Cook out the door. Clearly he thinks Cook has talent or he wouldn’t have given him the minutes he did last year as a true freshman. But he was probably honest with Cook that he would have serious competition for his minutes again this year, and Cook thinks he deserved to play more last year and moving forward. Sometimes there’s no one to blame for a player transferring. It’s okay to wish him well and not second guess the coach for letting a solid but unspectacular talent get away.
