Yep. Been there done that.
Worked for a small, family-owned manufacturer. Salary plus commission comp plan. My last two years, I made more than the son of the founder. So he retaliated by doubling my sales goal and cutting my commission rate. I walked within 30 days.
Rule #1 of keeping good sales folks- don’t frick with their $$.
