The problem with the bill is this . It increased the state’s power over elections counties. They have removed the Secretary of State as the chair of the state’s elections board. Instead the law lets the state’s legislature appoint a new person as chair of the board.
Under the law if a majority of the 5 member board decides ( Note : it doesn’t say is proven without a doubt but just suspects) that a county elections official has been doing their job poorly the board can suspend those officials and replace them with one person the board has handpicked to serve as temporary superintendent with the same power as the official he replaced.
Opens up the way to steal a lot of elections?
