Would you be ok with mass immigration if individual Americans were sponsors?

I understand stand it will never happen but I think if the American people who believe In unfettered immigration were to step up and sponsor immigrants for a period of time I would stop my bitching.
Most of y’all know when you adopt a child there’s a process where a social worker does several home visits, interviews, criminal and financial background checks before you’re allowed to proceed with the adoption.
My proposal would be very similar for Americans who believe in mass immigration.
If any American who believes in mass immigration wants to go through a vetting process to sponsor any immigrant they would contact the appropriate government agency for the necessary vetting process and be placed on a list just like potential couples who are wanting to adopt.
I understand details are lacking in my proposal but those details could be worked out, I’m simply trying to get the American who believes in mass immigration to step up and take personal responsibility for their beliefs. I would even allow corporations/businesses to participate because all I’m trying to do is stop this unfettered immigration insanity that currently is being paid for by the American taxpayer and frankly I’m sick of this BS!

We already have that in a sense. One person gets here then they can start bringing family members over

They have to feed them, house them, pay for the medical care, pay for their education and post a peace bond that they will obey the law. Then I might consider it.

That’s true. Once someone become a Legal Permanent Resident, aka green card, they can start to petition for others to come in. The numbers of accounted for immigrants are actually lower due to the USCIS only reporting the primary resident.

Of course we do but many of those people are not Americans and many are illegal too.

Absolutely! I would think a 2-3 year sponsorship is fair and if you’re a sponsor you’re also somewhat responsible for their behavior too.

I only want a true merit system for any immigration that we have in the future. We always need people who are going to be assets and not liabilities.

I’m fine with this^^^ if immigrants go through a sensible immigration process but the Dims don’t want a sensible immigration process so I want the Dims to be personally responsible and handle their own desire for mass immigration.

That process is already somewhat in place for family based immigration. Here is a link to the form that a sponsor has to fill out: link.. That is the current law and continues to be in place going forward. There are minimum income requirements etc. in this form.
Beyond that, Trump increased that scrutiny by introducing the public charge rule in February of 2020. However, a couple of days back it was deemed illegal in a court case. So that is not in place any more.

While this statement is technically true, in reality it is a very time consuming process. It is not like as soon as someone gets a green card, they get to bring their extended family over to USA from their home country. Just to give you some idea, here is the actual current wait tiles for family based immigration:
