Play on a good college team against some of the best competition in the country.
I would bet that of the players who are potential 1 and done. 95% are perfectly ok if they don't win a title in the year they are in college.
Most if given the choice wouldn't even go to college. Would go straight to the draft out of high school.

Be treated like a star around town.
I don't think that matters as much up front to them. I am sure they love the attention, but feel they can get that in the league. They are probably more worried about money than fame.

College girls.
Just like gold diggers who chase pro athletes, more trouble than they are worth. Rape allegations waiting to happen. Or baby momma's waiting to happen.

Build a legacy within the program and be a fan favorite who will long he remembered.
They are more concerned with building a brand in the league than a legacy at a university.
IMO, the only players worried about the things you mentioned are players who know up front they are 3-4 year players. They are the ones who are usually legacy players, who've had family play there, or have ties to the university.
