I was afraid of riding elevators as a kid. My dad had to take his belt off if I would not ride an elevator.

The weird thing was that I would suffer nervousness and anxiety for six hours riding to Houston because I knew I had to ride an elevator to see my grandma.

The elevator ride to the third floor was only 15 seconds.

As I got older, I forced myself to ride elevators at the Baton Rouge Clinic and local hospitals. Exposure therapy helps.

the only bridge I have crossed that freaked me out was the Chesapeake Bay Bridge:

Total length: 4.35 mi (7.00 km) (eastbound); 4....
Longest span: 1,600 ft (488 m)
Height: 354 ft (107.9 m) (eastbound); 379 ft ...

funny thing - I have driven across the New River Gorge Bridge, and it didn't phase me:

Total length 3,030 ft (924 m)
Width 69.3 ft (21.1 m), 4 lanes with center divider
Height 876 ft (267 m)
