I plan to build a new garage for my home. I hope to convert garage to usable space. Exterior of home is brick veneer over frame. Interior of garage is brick on all sides.

Plan is to replace garage door with windows. I intend to drywall and insulate that wall. Is it necessary to insulate the remaining walls. I will have blown in cellulose in attic space above.

We are doing the same thing but 2/4 of ours are already insulated. I am not sure what the R factor of brick is, but I would assume it’s going to get very hot and very cold in there. Especially if it’s on the western facing side of your house.

I may have enough capacity with our current AC, but may have to go with a ductless unit. They’re not bad price wise and seem to do a great job.

Are you going to add covered parking?

Yes. I’m building a new 3 car garage. Detached but will have covered walkway

I would suggest fiberglass insulation over cellulose.
