re: Metal detecting- any of you into it?

Thanks for the pics - off the top of my head, I'd say those are .50 cal. I have a book somewhere at the house on bullets from the Civil War. I'll look into it. Another thing, look closely inside the cavity - is it flat at the top? Any designs in them? I've found a couple that have a star or the like in them. If I can dig them out I'll snap a pic.
