That’s ironically the strongest suit of SK shows and the biggest turn off to Americans now.
Some of the best SK shows start off somewhat slowly because they are taking time to delve into character and world building. Arthdal is like that. The first 3 or 4 episodes is really just a deep dive in set up that is EXTREMELY important later on…to the point it creates some of the best television I have even see on episode 12.
Bulgasal is like that as well…showing you the story of how the last surviving monster in the world became an immortal monster, and his motivation for hunting and killing.
The problem with most of us, as evidenced on this board…is we don’t have the patience for payoffs and we don’t want to read subtitles.
