Crowd Noise
Autzen is known for its crowd noise. On October 27, 2007, during a 24-17 defeat of the USC Trojans, a record crowd of 59,277 fans was recorded at 127.2 decibels. A similarly-loud 31-27 upset of third-ranked Michigan in 2003 prompted a Michigan Daily columnist to write[5]
“ Autzen's 59,000 strong make the Big House sound like a pathetic whimper. It's louder than ... The Swamp at Florida, The Shoe in Columbus, and Death Valley at Louisiana State. Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die. ”
Michigan coach Lloyd Carr later said that Autzen Stadium was the loudest stadium he'd ever been in.[6]
In 2006, a Sporting News columnist named Autzen the most intimidating college football stadium in the nation.[7]
Lee Corso of ESPN College Gameday frequently says that; "Per person Autzen Stadium is the loudest stadium that I have ever been in my
entire life!"[8]

Good luck to you too, but you are a fricking idiot if you think your pathetic little stadium in anyway rivals Death Valley.

SCOOP IS ON THE RANT!
Scoop,
I've been to bryant-denny in 2005 for that LSU Bama game, and it was pretty damn loud.
what's your take on BDS?

Good Luck this year but autzen stadium as a loud stadium.
What the frick was the point of this thread?

Blazerduck07, its simple math. Everyone yells as loud as they can at LSU. EVERYONE. We are talking the professionals of drunken loud college fans. Thats 92k people yelling as loud as people can possibly yell.
Does Autzen have some kind of magical device that can make 59k sound louder than 92k? Acoustics that amplifies so well it was on the cover of Scientific America?
Didn't think so. Go home.

corso even says its not as loud......
he qualifies his statement by saying "per person"....
he is saying other, larger stadiums are louder

I could give a crap what some dumbass columnist from Michigan wrote about Death Valley. Unless he once worked for a newspaper somewhere in SEC-land, he's never been to Death Valley, so he's never experienced Tiger Stadium and doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
There fixed 'em both for ya.

one game against a big rival, I hope it would get loud. Try doing it every week.

#1. You're team is going to suck this year, and...
#2. Donald Duck is a Central Florida fan, not an Oregon fan.

My roommate at LSU and longtime friend has lived in Eugene,Oregon for the last 13 years. I've been to Autzen stadium and yes it is quite nice and loud for its size.
That being said Autzen in no way compares to Tiger Stadium or Jordan Hare or the Swamp for that matter.
My friend has been an Oregon season ticket holder for 12 years, but he will quickly agree with the above.

I'd rather be a part of 96K fans screaming at a great football team than 50K screaming at an average team anyday.
