I’m sure you have no problem with Ed O offering a kid a scholarship and then pulling it a couple of weeks before signing day

Never said that was cool either, but if they want to play the games they are playing, it should only be expected that our coaches will do the same thing.
I think I get your point in that all of it is game playing, but it should still be expected that when you give your word to somebody, you should honor that word, and that goes for both the players and the coaches as far as I'm concerned.
The problem begins when we take commitments from guys that are borderline not good enough to play here, and then the coaches back out because somebody better is interested, but then never actually commits to us, and then we end up losing both players.
It's a never ending cycle that is one aspect of the dirty part of recruiting, but it doesn't mean any of us have to like it.
