It sounds like you bought the wrong truck from the get-go. My '17 DCLB is perfect for me, but I hardly tow more than a small trailer and we do all the family driving in my wife's car. I needed a truck with 4wd that can hold a rack in the bed for hauling glass, and that's what my Tacoma offers me. If technology was big for you, Toyota was the wrong choice. They've always been years behind on that front. The transmission thing was a little annoying at first, but I don't even notice it anymore.
