He’s near the lead so often and doesn’t come through. A guy that is clearly one of the 2-3 most talented players in the world (likely closer to 1 than 3) yet he doesn’t close out the tournaments like he should.
Lately in the majors, he’ll shoot himself out of the tournament with a poor round on Thursday or Friday and then shoot one of the low scores for the weekend to finish in the top 10.
He has the ability to win at an all time amount, but he isn’t closing the deal. I heard someone else say it best, “Rory is one of his generations best, but will he win enough to become one of the all time bests?”

This trend is maddening with Rory for sure.
He has admitted more than once that motivation is an issue and that it's tough for him to lock in without fans at the events. Just became a father too, so a lot going on.
