Great post! As a big fan of the movie, that was well worth the read. Any insight as to why everything in Wonka’s office is cut in half?

Good question. I guess if I had to give some sort of symbolic reason I'd say because at that point Charlie and Grandpa Joe are only able to see half the truth, because Wonka hasn't revealed the other half yet. Honestly, though, that seems a trifle too on-the-nose for me, and I think it may simply be a case of "schnozberries tasting like schnozberries." In other words, a whimsical but meaningless detail in something that is, after all, still a kids' movie.
