Your praise for the 270 Win is warranted. I don't mean to seem picky, but to appreciate the beauty of the 270 Win even more, we need to realize it's actually 95 years old. I grew up reading everything Jack O'Connor wrote about the 270. It was no surprise that when I bought my first deer rifle at 17 y/o it was a Winchester Model 70 in 270 Winchester.
