It’s self fulfilling at this point
Give the G5 schools an auto bid/ play in for now( until further expansion) and teams like Memphis / Cincinnati/ULL may have just as likely a playoff path . Maybe easier in some cases. 3-5 P5 auto bids for their Champions/ G5 play in & a few At Large.
Other schools would become more attractive destinations.
