Offenses are getting better for a lot of reasons.

#1 they a literally getting better. Better and more accurate QBs, receivers that make insane catches and are incredible athletes. Coaches that find every weakness possible, etc.

#2 defenses are getting shittier. The DEs don’t contain. No one knows how to tackle or take a proper angle. It’s awful to watch.

#3 Holding by WRs and the o-line is out of control. And has been for many years.

Unless coaches want to focus on #2 and force the higher ups to enforce #3, the scoring machine teams aren’t going anywhere.

Offensive schemes today are light years ahead of where they were 20 years ago. Back then, the league had guys like Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, and (a few years later) Vince Young playing I formation football and not even coming close to maximizing their talents.

Michael Vick should have never played a single snap under center unless it was near the goal line.
