Agree to disagree

I think Watson is actually improving instead of regressing or remaining static.

I, unfortunately have watched the majority of Texans games this year, and he’s getting better, and it’s noticeable from year to year.

We’ll just have to disagree then. I’ve said before i don’t think he is the problem from a talent perspective, but paying him $40 million and expecting him to be a Hall of Fame level quarterback isn’t a solution and arguably makes him into a problem.

And lol at the person who said he has one of the worst lines. They are bottom 3 in running blocking, but middle of the pack in pass blocking. He actually arguably benefitted more than any other passer from play action and pro passes this past season, even more so than Tannehill (by a every small margin.
A healthy portion of his sacks are self-inflicted because of indecisiveness. I understand you want to make a big play but sometimes you just have to take off and get that 5 yard run or throw it away and on to the next play.

One of worst things that’s come out of the prevalence of fantasy football is that’s warped people’s perception of what constitutes a great player, particularly at QB. Everyone is so enamored with what their numbers are but pay little to no attention to how they or why they got them.

Watson, Cousins, and Carr were all in the top 10 for Passer ratings this season. Do you really believe that Watson is better than Mahomes, Allen, and Tannehill? Do you really believe Cousins is better than Brady? Do you really believe Carr is than Lamar, Stafford, or even Herbert?

What are you talking about? How could he benefit when the Texans ran for the fewest yards in the league? They had rushing threat this year. Just because they utilize more often doesn’t mean that it was beneficial. If you think play actions with Henry aren’t more threatening to teams than fakes to David Johnson, I don’t know what to tell you.

Watson takes some sacks, but more than makes up for it by scrambling or rolling out and extending plays that end up as positive. He’s continued to improve every year and is one of the most dynamic QB’s in the league. The fact you think Tannehill is better than Deshaun tells me everything I need to know.

Yes the Texans o line was one of the worst in the league. You even said they were bottom 3 in run blocking but middle of the pack in pass blocking...that’s one of the worst lines in the league. Honestly pass blocking metrics would probably be even worse if it wasn’t for Watson ability to avoid sacks. He rarely has a clean pocket to work with.

You are trying to come off as some elitist that knows more about football with a bad take. Watson is a top 10 QB in the league period. And an argument could be made for top 5 honestly.

Why the hell would any LB unit bite on play action from the Texans? They were awful! They may respect the Watson run on the zone read, occasionally, but they were already so far behind early in most games that they didn't have to. Down 21 in the 3rd quarter, no one is respecting that play action.
