That wasn't how they did it at the pod I went to. You will get email from the county with a link to set up second appointment.
For Pfizer shots....there is a 4 day grace period...so you can technically get it 17 days after first shot instead of 21 days.
And...if you miss second shot and wait longer...you just get the second shot. You don't need to repeat the series again.
