Four drs have now told us the ER isn’t necessary. There just giving her a bunch of fluids right now because the fever took a lot out of her and her heart rate is elevated.

Heart rate can go up from fever and from dehydration so they are giving her fluid

When I went for my walk - I said some prayers for all the sick wives I read about on here

I have six kids - so I know how stressful and scary and stuff this can be

You wouldn’t go to the ED with the general population at 23 weeks pregnant. You would go to triage which is on labor and delivery. Ed will send anyone over 20 weeks to triage, but I’m glad you’re getting fluids since that was my initial concern with such a high temp. Unfortunate thing about urgent care is that it can literally be staffed by anyone: someone who quit residency after a year, a second year resident moon lighting, a fam Med doctor that trained at a small facility. In the future, would recommend going to your OB’s hospital. Triage’s generally have very little wait and you will be evaluated quickly. For transparency sake, I am an obgyn.
