Fitting one’s self for wedges

I live close to a couple big box golf stores that do driver and iron fittings. However they do not fit wedges. The sales associate stated they recommend everyone play off the rack wedges due to the clubs seldom use in a full swing.
I am not buying that and want to fit myself. I have a lie board, tape measure, some off the rack wedges and interest into how to perform a self assessment, wedge fitting.
If anyone has links I would appreciate you sharing.... thanks

You need to figure out what type of grind would best balance the types of shots you like to take vs forgiveness. Then go from there.

I have a desired grind. My question relates to shaft length and lie angle

Wow. Getting wedges fit definitely helps. I can attest to it. My irons are 3 degrees upright and 1/2 inch long. For wedges you usually don’t go as much as your irons so we went 2 degrees and standard length
Standard 54: 115 yards, backspin enough to stop the ball where it lands.
2 degree upright: 120 yards and ball spins back 10-15 feet on a full swing and has great bite on pitches.
Same result for my 58. Added 5 yards of distance and much greater spin control because I was now hitting the center of the club face.

Good information, I’ need to schedule a fitting somewhere, even if it is far away
