Possibly a little high but it depends on the situation.
-location? Is this in NYC or Baton Rouge? Big difference
- was that just the cost of the surgery or also diagnostics, imaging, recovery/observation for a couple of days in the hospital?
- "emergency spay"...did she have a pyometra? That's a life threatening situation which has to be done very carefully to prevent the uterus from opening and emptying pus into the abdominal cavity. If the uterus had already burst, it's an extensive surgery to clean out the abdominal cavity, IV antibiotics and fluid support to prevent sepsis, etc
