Paging antiquetiger, LSU program prices soar on ebay?

I am lousy at links (I'm old, feeble etc) but on ebay in last 24 hours where some unreal (IMHO) prices for 58-59 programs. Being a collector the 1958's (other than Miss st) usually go for about $250 and 1959 89 Yard cannon punt return goes for $350ish. The nicer the more $ as far as condition. So how does the following happen?
all nov 17-18
Cannon Program $1680 (highest price I have ever seen for any LSU program)
LSU, UF 58 $390
LSU Bama 1958 $935!
LSU Ole Miss 58 $465
and some common 58's... UK $340, Rice $300
As antique can tell you the rarest 58 by far is Miss St and it recently sold for $700, about what a 1947 cotton bowl, same, but these are VERY rare due to the horrible weather at these games...
Again I collect LSU stuff, but these prices are setting a new level,

Probably the university selling them to raise funds for upcoming lawsuits.

Asking price and actual selling prices can be two very different things
Do these programs have bids?

These were the sale prices! Not all bought by same person and many unique bidders for each. I follow this stuff (not as much as some of you) and I am telling you this is WAY above any market I have ever seen..frame of reference, there was an auction several years ago for a 1922 LSU program, oldest known of any LSU program, the University does not have one that old- it sold for under $1,500, that is holy grail stuff and a "common" 58 goes for 900= and Cannon run $1,500+ (again usually 3-400 max)

Favorite magazine LSU related cover is that old Time magazine cover with the cheerleader on it

Those items are from the estate of Mickey Mangham. The total that the items have gone for as of right now is $6,059.99.
The Halloween Night program sold for over $1,600.

wonder what else they have? But no matter who it is from, the prices are VERY high, if they sell his ring or watch from that year we are looking at $5K+ I would think...uniform? would be off the charts

What is the link? Or their seller name?

They sold a Chinese bandit hat for about $1,100. They’ve had several license plates too.

These prices were insane. It's from a former player's estate so I guess those bidding assumed they were worth more, and they were not.
They might be hoping to get the inside scoop on other items if they paid up. Regardless very silly to run up those prices.
Most of the 1958 program sale on average b/t $150-200 ... some maybe getting to $250 (rarely).
I've seen the Cannon Run Ole Miss program go for as high as $800 (usually $300-500 range), but $1680 is a ridiculous price even for a fairly rare program.

His family kept the important items (ring, jersey, helmet, etc). Apparently, it's a massive estate, and she's trying to get the most money for them.

she's doing that...and they programs are mostly in good condition, but still. Now she is selling some 1959 programs that are common, $100 tops IMHO...hope she does great because I have some of same...

Yeah the value of a couple of our license plates, 1958 program, and 1959 Ole Miss program just double and tripled

Mrs. Mangham passed away earlier this year so perhaps their daughter is asking too much?

Auctions are bidding up to these amounts

Wow I didn’t know the 58 stuff went for so high. I have every program, Sugar Bowl watch , NC ring , 4 game balls , and lots of other stuff. My father played on the team. He was a captain so got some game balls. But my mother’s damn cats ruined a few.
