For those of you interested in such things:

Trinton Strudivant is out for the year at the Starting Left Tackle position...OUCH! Pre-season ranking are meaningless with a rash of injuries...can't imagine Richt is looking forward to Death Valley with NO Left Tackle. Keep an eye on this position for the Dawgs early on as Stafford could get blindsided several times this year.

Outside of QB, possibly the most vital position on offense is the Left Tackle...gotta love a healthy Ciron Black right now.

Lots on injuries as Hardy is out at Ole Miss and what about the Gators:

Ingram out at Florida---ACL
Brendan Beal---ACL
(Back up LB)...Also didn't we recruit Beal at LB pretty hard last year?
Dorian Munroe--ACL and STARTING Strong Safety
John Curtis-ACL Backup Free Safety
OG---ACL Jim Barrie Backup OL

And for those a little farther away:

Virginia Tech has virtually no WRs to throw the ball. Brandon Dillard only returning WR letterman and now Marcus Davis WR lost for the year as well. Can you say VTech UNDER the Total?

Thanks...and maybe I am the only one, but wouldn't a handicapping specific Message Board be of benefit to some of us on the site??

Chicken?? Your thoughts??

Greg Hardy out 6-8 weeks due to stress fracture in foot. Led SEC in sacks last year.

USC has one starter coming back on OL. New QB. Lost their great TE. Does anybody know who are their go-to guys besides maybe McKnight?? #2???

While I am certainly an LSU homer, I believe there are few teams in the country in a better position to make a run this year. Of ocurse, we need a little luck (AND A QB) but I like what I am hearing as long as we continue to stay healthy and improve.

SC could have some serious issues this year. Mustain is NOT the answer and a banged up young OL will not help. How good would we feel this year if we JUST had Terrance Tolliver...a top prospect with about 25 catches...See USC.

Call me crazy if you like (and many of you will I am sure), but right now, I will bet on Ohio State to beat SC in the Coliseum. Ohio State has a TOM of starters back from a very good, maybe not great, but very good team with a QB, RB, OL and solid Defense.

Give me Ohio State plus the 7 right now.

SC is in a bit of trouble IMO.

OSU beats Jimmie Hats. Buckeyes will have a very strong team. USC won't have the weapons to spread out the Buckeye defense like LSU did (can anyone name a USC WR?). Bucks will be able to play more zone and have their LB's & DB's play closer to the line of scrimmage the way they like to. LSU was able to shred the zone because they had more weapons on the outside unlike USC. Also, I don't think USC's OL can handle OSU's DL like LSU did last year. IMO.

I tend to agree...and I think that trend may keep catching up to USC this year. Without a vaunted passing attack, and with no experience TE, all the pundits can keep saying they are reloading, but I think they will be hard pressed to put up huge numbers this year again the upper tier teams with any defense at all.

Buckeyes win in LA and I think they will play for their 3rd straight title in Miami.

Booty was getting his "arse tasted" by the media before last year, didn't have a stellar year. Their offense was nothing to cream your pants about. Good, but not dominant like '05 team. If Dixon don't get hurt, USC is in the HOLIDAY BOWL last year.

It's a big blow to UGA that Sturdivant got hurt. They were already very thin on the OL with not very much experience and now they have to replace the most vital position on the line. UGA started 3 freshmen on the OL last year (including Sturdivant) because of so many issues.

With Sturdivant out now UGA only has 2 returning starters on the OL and they're both sophomores.

I'm loving the buckeye lovefest

Seriously, I just hope this OSU team plays well. If they play well and get beat, I have no problems with it. I had almost no gripes with the loss to the Tigers in N.O.

I get pissed when we play like crap a la UF in 2006 and at home against UT in 05.

I just hope that UGA guy is back soon; he seems like a great talent

What a joke. USC "in a bit of trouble?" Y'all sound like the folks talking about how LSU's in trouble without Dorsey and Hester. tOSU could certainly beat USC, but the Trojans will be very, very good this year. They are a long way from being in any kind of "trouble."

Tiger 40-

I do not think anyone is saying they ar going to go 4-8, but they are ranked #1 and I think they have as many, if not MORE, questions than we do. I KNOW Georgia has a weaker OL than Tenn, LSU, Florida and their schedule is brutal.

Give me tOSU and their OL against the SC DL and the reverse and I wil go play them anywhere.

Now, for the tOSU Fan liking our rhetoric about the game on Sept 13, I do not think tOSU would win either the East or the West in the SEC so keep your excitement under wraps for a while.

My point of all this was simply to state that I do not care what you are ranked right now or how many starters you have coming back...the most talented and injury free teams will always win out and I think Georgia and USC are "in trouble" as a #1 and #2 ranked team at this point.

They will both be VERY, VERY good, but I do not think either one of these teams goes into October undefeated. That is my definition of "in trouble".

We'll be fine. He is our best OL, but we are plenty deep for just this type of situation. Not the way we wanted to begin the season, but you have to take your lumps, plug in new guys and hope they step up and keep moving forward

Buckeye 40-

My prediction of Ohio State to play in the BCS, AGAIN, is not an endorsement of tOSU, but rather an indictment of USC and the rest of the god awful Big Ten.

Whether it be LSU, UGA, Florida, or Tennessee (yes I think they could steal the East from bothe GA and Fla, clearly they will be 7-10 point favorites over tOSU and most likely beat buckeye of you again.

Just to be clear where I hang my hat each week.!!

Dallas Dawg-

With any reason of sanity, do most Georgia fans look at that schedule and say, 12-0? If LSU played that schedule, we wouldn't be 9-3. It is simply brutal! I honestly do not think Georgia even wins the East, much less the SEC and BCS.

ASU is going to be nasty and at Spurrier and Little Nicky will be ready after your trip to the Desert.

And Georgia "Could be" the best team in the country at 10-2 or 9-3...that schedule is simply impossible to navigate, especially WITHOUT a Left Tackle. he was a starter for a reason!

Not dawging UGA, it is just too hard for any team to run that table. Andyes, I will be the first to claim the UGA has the greatest team in NCAA hisotry if they put 14-0 on the board.

There is no such thing as being deep at the OLine. Thats the one part of football where it does not apply. OLines gel as a unit, if you lose one of your anchors you could be in a world of hurt even if you have someone with all-american talent behind him.

Now you might be right, the Dawgs might be fine. But that is the worst position, after QB, to lose your starter at, IMO.

Did u watch ASU's OL get taken apart last year? USC beat Carpenter to a pulp. UGA's DL will be at least as good. Should be a slaughter. I'll be shocked if Carpenter walks off the field.

Tiger 40, I don't know about "trouble", but they will get upset in at least 2 games....as usual. They play great in the big games, shitty against underdogs. See Stanford, Oregon State, AZ, UCLA, WA, WA State last couple years.

I'm going to that game baby. Think it's a night game so I'll be watching LSU/Auburn @ a sportsbar close to the stadium before kickoff. Hopefully LSU/Auburn is an early game.
