Playing at Auburn has been painful the last 4 tries but think about this.....the home team has not lost a game in this series since 1999. That streak HAS to end eventually. Unfortunately, I think we will probably trade surprise wins over Auburn and Georgia this year for a couple of ball breakers......maybe Ole Miss and South Carolina.

We'll win big. We'll eat their sophomore qb alive.

Here's a hint...what did you edit on your first post? Now consider your response to the first responder's question.

I know.....I didn't realize it until after my first response. Anyway, any thoughts on the actual topic of the post or are we going to play Scrabble instead???

I need to see our QB and DB's before I predict that we break the trend.

LSU only has a shot at one "surprise win" this season, and that concerns the game in Gainesville.

Yes. We beat Auburn on the Plains. We have a better football team.

We've had a better team than them plenty of times before and still managed to lose. But I agree, for the first time in a while I think we will simply overwhelm them with superior talent. Auburn's continued assistant coaching carrousel is what motivates me the most about possibly winning this game.....

I've got a feeling we'll beat Auburn. But I agree that we'll lose one we shouldn't - maybe South Carolina, maybe Bama.

Bold pick. I hope you're right but I have my doubts.

Being a "realist" or a "pessimist" should not apply to three weeks before the season. Is having high expectations that get dashed worse than conning yourself into suppressing those expectations and being "satisfied"?

LSU has top 5 talent. LSU should win every game this year except Florida and possibly Georgia (each of whom have talent on par and slightly more experience). LSU is far more talented than Auburn. Hence LSU should win.

Oooooooh, philisophical discourse planted on LSU football talk. Most interesting.....

Talent is what I will have my eye on the most this coming season. Is Miles truly equaling or even bettering his predecessors accomplishments on the recruiting trail? This in my mind is the number one question long term for the LSU football program.

Geeez, you're tough. So many loseable games to SEC teams with less talent but that might catch us napping coming off of a big win. Not sure I agree here.

Again, that has never prevented us from losing this game in the past. That aside, I really think that we win the game at Auburn. I look at college football from a somewhat holistic perspective and the home team is going to have to lose a game in this series eventually.

You're just a pessimist. Jimbo Fisher is not the OC anymore. 2004 Auburn was more talented than 2004 LSU.
